Of course, it's not just competing songs that fill up the airspace on national finals night. There's many an ill-advised interval act or 'delightful' revisitings of the olden days that goes on between the songs and the votes. And this year Denmark gave us a proper treat.
They're already wheeled out dear old Brotherhood of Man, but we've been watching them gradually get old and creaky over the years. More of a surprise though was Herreys, the Swedish Eurovision winners from 1984.
OK, so it's been 29 years since their victory in Luxembourg (remember them?), and few of us have fared well over those years, but I still struggled to recognise them from the fluffy haired pop imps that they used to be. Good to see them still getting out of the house, mind.
