Azerbaijan 2013 - Rövşən Əzizov - Je Ne Sais Quoi

The fun clearly never ends in Azerbaijan's epic qualification tournament. With five shows a week, there's plenty of opportunities for pure Apocalypse gold. But it always seems to be the Eurovision covers segment that causes the most mirth.

Witness young Rövşən here. There's so many joys to choose from: the voice, the dance steps, the jumper. But for us it just has to be the knee slide when the key change hits bang on 2:30. Best single moment of the year so far!

Hera Bjork herself has been alerted, and is apparently both touched and amused.

  1. I wanted to not write anything to keep the comment of all - "No Comments". But I gathered that it's just a matter of time before someone will write something. I just don't understand why the bother with such an elaborate and lengthy process when the winner has most probably already been chosen and the song written, mixed and recorded... but at least we have all those gems... :-)

  2. Well in this tiny internet world, it turns out that me and Rövşən have some mutual friends. What are the chances of that happening, eh!

I've ended up having a chat with him, and it turns out he's a lovely sweet guy who's fully committed to giving it his all in the contest. And some of the more traditional Azeri songs that he's performed in the contest have actually been pretty good. See…

He's doing Eye Of The Tiger tonight, mind, and he's not very well. So fingers crossed for the lad!
